This may be an on going conversation or it may just die off right away. Either way i think it is something that needs to be talked about. Many people are asking the question… How do you convince a boss to add social network into the 2009 budget!

Ok, So first. What do i need to do to prove to my boss?

Well, while not being easy, you need a great idea.  With this idea you need a plan.

So how can i appeal this idea to my audience?

While some people would say this questions is impossible or nearly impossible to grab the audience, I say no way.

There are two things that will always grab peoples curiosity.

One, a popular person in the viral media… and Two, Funny or sexual connotation videos or posts.

And sometimes, just a great marketing plan with do the duty…

Moving on. I think most of us already knew these things.

So how do i explain to my boss, who doesn’t even know what Social Research is all about, that this should be in the budget in the near future?

Again, you need to prove to him that we can advance hits on the web or overall sales on a brand new product. So take a product you are about to release and do Social planning on this one product on your own time. Prove that you can improve hits on site and your conversion rates on this single product will increase as well!

I would love to see what people have to say about this so far. I think I will continue my thought process after some ideas come through…

P.S. I would like to thank @chelpixie for this idea today. I love feeding off of others.

I got some GREAT advice from twitter about how to convince your boss and I reposted that on our blog.

I also saw a friend of mine Beth Dunn wrote a blog post with her ideas. You can check it out here: http://smalldots.wordpress.com/2008/10/13/winning-over-executives-to-social-media-marketing/
